Looking for some amazing Christmas gifts for the new moms in your life? Or, maybe you’re a new mom looking for some ideas to add to your wishlist.
Christmas as a new mom can be such an exciting time. After all, it also means it’s baby’s first Christmas as well! It’s such a fun and exciting “first,” especially for new moms.
But sometimes finding ways to celebrate a new mom can be hard. But don’t give up—she needs it! Too often the focus shifts abruptly from mom to baby after delivery. It’s sad, but true.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to see the new baby. But there’s something wrong when we completely forget about a new mom after her baby arrives.
Christmas is a great time to show new moms that they are remembered and loved. Don’t be afraid to go all out—and remember, not all Christmas gifts have to be expensive, sometimes the best gifts for new moms aren’t material at all.

Choosing The Perfect Christmas Gifts For New Moms
The first year of motherhood truly has a huge learning curve. And that can easily leave new moms feeling overwhelmed.
Often, new moms, especially in the first six months, struggle with sleep deprivation, breastfeeding, learning to care for their baby, learning to care for themselves, and adjust to their new life as mom.
And in the midst of trying to juggle all those things, it’s easy for new moms to feel like they’ve lost their identity. Many new moms struggle to adjust to their new normal, while struggling with the conflicting emotions of loving their baby while simultaneously missing their old life.
It’s a hard adjustment, for anyone. Which is why it’s so important to take every opportunity to help, support, and celebrate her.
When you’re choosing Christmas gifts for new moms, take these things into consideration. Do you know what she is currently struggling with? Is there a way you can support her in that challenge?
Or maybe she just needs encouragement, or a moment to herself. Honestly, the best gifts are the ones that show that you’ve noticed her, remember her, and want to support her. Moms need to feel understood and validated.
With all that in mind, here are some ideas for Christmas gifts that will help you support and love on the new moms in your life.
Christmas Gift Ideas For New Moms
Keep in mind that this gift guide is geared toward new moms in their first year of motherhood. Of course, some gifts are great even for seasoned moms.
Aromatherapy Candle
If I’m being honest, I didn’t really believe that aromatherapy worked. That is until I actually got an aromatherapy candle.
And oh. My. Goodness. We’ll just say I’m a believer now.
I’ve noticed that I’ve held onto a lot more tension and stress since becoming a mom. And one of the ways I’ve been able to release that tension is to regularly burn my Aromatherapy candle.
Personally, I’m a big fan of Bath & Body Works’ Stress Relief and Energy candles. They smell good, and have actually benefit your body.
Night / Day Out

Alright, real talk. Sometimes the best gift is as simple as a break.
Being a mom is rough, and being brand new at it is even harder. I think that is safe to say that most moms have moments when they just want to have some alone time.
The greatest gift may be as simple as offering to watch the baby for a few hours. Let her do whatever she wants—go out for a bit, stay home and shower or take a long nap.
Don’t preschedule a day. Make sure to work with her to decide on a day and time that works for both of you. And whatever you do, don’t try to force this time off on her!
Many new moms struggle with leaving their baby in the care of others. It’s not you, it’s just a maternal instinct thing, and can be pretty severe if she’s struggling with postpartum anxiety.
Haaka
The Haaka is one of the top Christmas gifts for new moms.
Basically, it’s a manual pump that catches breastmilk from the side that is currently not being nursed. Rather than milk dripping out and being wasted after a letdown, it catches it so you can save it for later.
Unfortunately, I didn’t hear about it until after Elijah was weaned, so I haven’t personally used it yet. I did, however, get one for whenever we have another baby after hearing the raving reviews!
The Haaka is a great gift to support a breastfeeding mom.
Aromatherapy Sugar Scrub
Alright, I’ve already talked about how I’ve personally experienced the benefits of aromatherapy.
Probably my favorite self care product right now is Bath & Body Works’ Aromatherapy sugar scrubs.
The first time I used it, I fell completely in love. The scrub exfoliates your skin and leaves it incredibly smooth and soft. And of course, the aroma does wonders as well!
Postpartum Journal

The postpartum journal is a fantastic gift for a brand new mom.
This device friendly journal helps moms in the postpartum period stay organized, keep track of important to-dos and appointments, journal, and more!
This journal can be used on any device or printed, and works well alone or as an addon to the Pregnancy Journal.
Amazon Prime Membership

An Amazon Prime Membership may sound like an odd gift, but for new moms, it’s a total gem.
She may not know it now, but Amazon Prime is about to become her new best friend. Too many people think Prime only has 2-day free shipping to offer, but really it’s so much more than that.
It also includes access to thousands of movies and TV shows, which comes in handy for all those nursing sessions.
But that’s not even all that’s included. She’ll also get access to thousands of ebooks, unlimited photo storage, and much, much more.
Honestly, every mom needs a Prime Membership.
Newborn Photography Session

There are few things I regret doing, or not doing, with my firstborn, but I think this is one of those things I actually do regret not doing.
Having some really nice, professional photos of her newborn will mean the world to her. Trust me.
There’s nothing like the newborn stage. And while it can be challenging, there’s nothing like a tiny, newborn baby.
These are pictures she will truly treasure forever. Footing the bill for a photography session for her and her baby is a gift well worth giving.
Chiropractor Appointment

Hang in there with me! A chiropractor appointment may not seem the gift of the year, but for a new mom it can be absolutely wonderful.
I never thought I’d like going to a chiropractor, but since becoming a mom it’s one of my favorite things.
Carrying and birthing a baby can really mess your body up, and seeing a chiropractor is one step towards remedying that. Trust me, she will thank you.
Professional Massage

While we’re on the topic of helping mama’s body feel better, a professional massage is another amazing gift.
I had my first massage last year, and it was literally the best thing I have ever been given. It helped so much and relieved so much tension.
I literally have never felt better than I did walking out of that place. This is at the very top of the must have Christmas gifts for new moms!
Letter of Encouragement

I already know a lot of people are going to shy away from this, probably because it sounds too easy and simple.
Stop. More than anything, moms need encouragement. They need to know that you see them, that they are appreciated, and that they are loved.
They need to hear how their daily work is important. New moms struggle so much mentally and emotionally. Let her know she is beautiful, and that she is doing an amazing job.
Rachel Allene Mug

If you like supporting small shops, you’re going to love this Christmas gift idea. Rachel Allene’s mugs are literally the cutest mugs I have ever seen, hands down.
New mom life is tiring, and many of us resort to extra cups of coffee to get by (or you know, the same reheated cup).
A new mug is the perfect gift for a new mom, and will almost certainly cheer her up.
Keurig Coffee Maker
Speaking of moms living off coffee, why not gift her a brand new Keurig coffee maker?
I like that Keurig’s are single serve coffee makers, so you don’t have to make a huge pot or waste any.
And what I really love is that it can make other hot drinks too, like tea or hot chocolate. I’m not personally a fan of coffee, but I do love making hot chocolate in place of it.
Newborn Sleep Course

Speaking of moms needing coffee, that’s pretty much because the first few months to a year with a new baby is completely exhausting.
And many new moms struggle with getting their baby to sleep well and appropriately for their age. One way to help with this is to gift a baby sleep course to them.
My personal favorite baby sleep course is Baby, We’re Home, Now Let’s Sleep! by Mommy Labor Nurse.
Created and taught by a labor and delivery nurse and a baby sleep consultant, this newborn sleep course teaches everything new moms need to know about newborn sleep. Including how to get more of it!
Little Mama Shirt Shop

Right now, my favorite small shop for shirts is the Little Mama Shirt Shop.
Her shirts are so soft, and there are so many cute designs! She also carries shirts for kids, grandparents, and matching mommy and me sets.
I really can’t recommend this shirt shop enough!
Baby Sling
Baby slings and carriers are life savers! Especially if she has a baby that loves to be carried and held.
Personally, I had a Baby K’tan and really liked it. But I’m also interested in trying a ring sling with our next child!
Baby slings allow her to use both her hands, while still carrying baby. For many moms, this is super helpful for getting things done around the house!
Pedicure / Manicure / Haircut

It may seem like a simple thing, but new moms often appreciate going out to get a pedicure, manicure, or fresh haircut.
Having a baby takes a lot out of you, and that first year with a baby can often leave a mom feeling not like herself.
Setting her up to go treat herself can do her a world of good!
Treat her well!
Whatever Christmas gifts you choose for the new moms in your life, be sure to treat her well. She works hard, and she deserves it.
Be sure to remind her that she is loved, appreciated, and noticed.
