Need ideas for Halloween costumes for your baby this year? No problem! I know for me, one of the biggest struggles every year is figuring out what costume to do for my son on Halloween. Because let’s be real, I’m just there for the candy—ya know?
Although we don’t exactly celebrate Halloween, we do help out at our church’s trunk-or-treat event every year. If you’ve never been to a trunk-or-treat event, it’s basically a ton of car trunks decorated. Instead of going door to door, you go trunk to trunk and get candy.
It’s a great option if you’re looking for a more family friendly route to trick-or-treating—which you probably are when you have a baby!
Anyway. When my son was a baby, I had the worst time coming up with a costume idea for him. It’s not like he was old enough to tell me what he wanted to be! And I am not crafty at all.
If you’re stuck in the same place I was, I decided to help you out this year! I scoured through Amazon (because Prime is a mom’s best friend) and picked out the best and cutest Halloween costumes for baby.

Should you get a Halloween costume for baby this year?
Before we get into the costumes themselves, maybe you’re wondering if it’s even worth buying a costume this year. After all, it has been a total disaster so far (just being honest, guys).
Honestly, if you would have done it before this year happened, then I would encourage you to do it this year. I think it’s really important to hold on to and continue doing anything “normal” that you possibly can. Even if your original plans need to be tweaked to make it work.
Maybe typical Halloween festivities have been canceled where you live. There are still plenty of ways you can adjust to accommodate the changes.
Maybe this year you’ll just celebrate at home with your immediate family, or invite a couple friends over. Try hiding candy around the house and let your kids find it—kind of like an Easter egg hunt.
Resist the urge to do nothing. Allowing everything to be completely canceled with no replacement does nothing for you and your mental health, or that of your child.
So do I think it’s worth getting ideas and buying Halloween costumes for your baby and kids? Yes. Because doing anything we used to do is good for your mental health. Even if it seems small.
