With Mother’s Day right around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about how you want to celebrate the moms in your life. Maybe that means doing something special for her. Or maybe it means finding a couple unique Mother’s Day gifts to give her.
If you decide to go the gift route, then you’ll likely know how difficult it can be to come up with the perfect gift. After all, you want her to know how much you love and appreciate her.
However, moms often don’t know what they’d like when it comes to gifts. After all, when you spend your days taking care of everyone else, who has time to think of what you would like yourself?
It’s easy to settle for a generic gift such as flowers. And if she’s a flower lover, that’s perfectly fine! But I think most of us like to try to give more unique and special Mother’s Day gifts. After all, she deserves it!
So in this post, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite gifts that moms will truly love. And I’d love for you to add your ideas in the comments!

Celebrating Moms Everywhere
Before we get into the gift ideas, let’s take a second to just celebrate moms everywhere. Maybe you’re on this post looking for a gift for your wife or mother, or maybe you are the mother looking for a gift for another mom in your life.
Whatever the case, take a minute to appreciate just how much moms do. Because moms are freakin’ rockstars.
Recognizing Moms
Mothers are responsible for so much, as yet we often forget to appreciate their effort. They’re the ones getting up early with the kids, after taking care of them in the middle of the night when they’re hungry or had a bad dream.
They’re the ones making sure everyone gets where they need to be, more or less on time. They make sure everyone gets fed, and the kitchen gets cleaned up afterward.
Newsflash: the laundry actually doesn’t do itself. Moms are the ones making sure those dirty little clothes get cleaned, folded, and put away.
Most often, moms are the ones kissing the scraped knees and bashed fingers. They’re the ones everyone goes to when sad, angry, or frustrated. Hopefully, they also go to her with the joys and excitement as well.
Usually, moms are tired all the time. They’re drained, under-appreciated, and often overlooked. And yet they still show up, every day. Every day they’re there, pouring into their kids and families, even at the expense of their own self care and energy.
The least any of us can do is take a minute to appreciate all that they are, and all that they do. Actively recognize all that she is, and all that she does. Really, that’s all most of us want anyway. To know that we are seen, loved, and appreciated. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
I’m not saying don’t buy her a Mother’s Day gift. I’m just saying that before you do, take a minute to show her how much you appreciate her. Validate her emotions, and let her know her work doesn’t go unnoticed.
Ideas For Unique Mother’s Day Gifts
Now, on to the gift ideas! Before you go buying a gift, take a minute to really think about the mom you intend to bless.
Is the gift a good fit for her? Is it something she specifically will like and enjoy? Taking just a few minutes to ask these questions will go a long way in helping you pick out the right gift for her.
Mama Apparel

Pretty much every mom appreciates some new clothes every now and then. And while we all have our own styles, I don’t think I know any mom who doesn’t appreciate some “mom swag” every now and then.
Right now my favorite place to get “mama” apparel is from Little Mama Shirt Shop. Mama owned and run, her shirts are so incredibly soft—even after tons of washing.
Even if you’re not specifically looking for “mama” type clothes, this small shop is still a fantastic place to get cute and comfortable clothes!
Causebox (annual subscription or single box)

Okay, this one can be a bit more expensive, so if you’re looking for something on the budget friendly side, then keep scrolling.
However, this is an amazing unique Mother’s Day gift that comes with not just one gift, but multiple gifts.
Causebox is a subscription box filled with sustainable, clean, and ethically made products that she’s going to love! My hubby got me an annual subscription for Christmas, and I have loved every single box I’ve gotten so far.
You can get an annual subscription (4 boxes) or a quarterly (1 box). Whatever you choose, it’s well worth it!
SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Essential Face Toner

Okay, look, I get that this isn’t your normal gift. But hear me out, because this toner is awesome.
I never really understood the point of toners, but this Skin&Co Roma Truffler Therapy Essential face toner is absolutely amazing. I was introduced to it through one of my Causeboxes, and it’s made a big difference for my skin.
Since I started using this, my face has been so much smoother and softer. I’ve also had far fewer breakouts, and the couple small ones I did have cleared up in record time. Honestly, it’s a gamechanger.
Body Scrub / Polish

Who doesn’t love a good body scrub? I’m kind of disappointed in myself for taking so long to try one—I didn’t buy my first sugar scrub until well after I had my son.
Point being, body scrubs and polishes make your skin feel amazing. And anything that makes a mom’s skin feel that way is worth gifting.
Right now, I’m loving the True Moringa Rejuvenating Body Polish I got in my winter Causebox. It’s the best body scrub/polish I’ve tried so far, and it’s a great non-toxic option.
I also really like Bath&Body Works’ sugar scrubs. While I realize they aren’t the best option as far as non-toxic products, I do really love their scents, especially their Lavendar and Cedarwood line.
Professional Massage

One Christmas I was gifted a professional massage. And it was absolutely amazing!
Between giving birth, carrying babies, and playing with little ones, mom’s bodies are truly stretched to the limits. Having kids is hard, and it takes a toll on our bodies.
It’s very common for moms to get used to feeling tired, worn out, and uncomfortable. Sometimes we live like this for so long that we forget what it felt like before kids.
Do her a solid and book her an appointment for a massage. She’ll come out feeling amazing, and it will do her a world of good.
Spa Day

While you’re at it, why not set up a whole spa day to really treat her? If you have the ability to send her to a legit spa, by all means, go for it.
Of course, that’s not realistic for everyone, and that’s okay. You can easily throw her a spa day right from the comfort of home.
Grab a facemask (this is my favorite right now), bath salts, body scrub, and some candles. Then take the kids out and give her time to pamper herself in peace.
A Good Book

Okay, maybe this isn’t the first thing you think of when you think of unique Mother’s Day gifts. But if she enjoys reading, this may be the perfect gift for her.
Personally, I think all moms should make a point to read at least a few minutes every day. Even if you don’t particularly like reading, reading is an essential habit that helps us grow as individuals and parents.
Favorite Candle

Think about the mom you plan to buy for—does she like candles? Or maybe essential oils are her thing?
Whatever her preference, most moms like something that makes her space smell nice. And it can be incredibly relaxing, too.
I’ve found that I like to light a candle in the evenings. Even if it’s a light scent that you don’t really notice, the flickering flame provides a nice atmosphere to unwind.
Massager
While a professional massage is always best, you can do a pretty good job with a handheld massager. It’s kind of the gift that keeps on giving.
My hubby was gifted one a handheld deep tissue massager one Christmas, and it’s awesome. Even though it was his gift, I like to borrow it sometimes when needed.
It’s easy to use, and works really well. And it’s great for getting into hard to reach spots that build up tension.
Rachel Allene Mug

Just about all moms like to enjoy a hot cup of something in the morning. For many, it’s coffee. Others enjoy tea, or in my case, hot chocolate.
And nothing makes that morning cup better than a beautiful mug to enjoy it in. After all, it’s often the little things that bring joy into our everyday lives.
My favorite place to get mugs is from Rachel Allene. Her mugs are designed to bring inspiration and joy, and they are incredibly beautiful. No matter her taste, you’re sure to find one she’ll love.
Wrapping Up Unique Mother’s Day Gifts
Ultimately, the best unique gifts for Mother’s day are the ones you put thought and effort into. Avoid the temptation to get the first thing you see, and instead spend some time finding the right gift.
Moms want to feel seen, understood, and loved. Choose a gift that shows her that you notice her and value her role in the family. It will make a world of difference!
